There are ads in the git commits now, put there by GitHub Copilot. They are in Ubuntu Server's default MOTD, put there by Canonical. There are even ads in build warnings now.
Fridge serving ads is one thing. I have full control over the kind of fridge I use at home. Hell, it would probably be possible to not even HAVE a fridge these days. The tools of the trade I use professionally, however, are a different story. It's much harder to escape enshittification there.
